Making of a Triptych step 3 - Het maken van een Drieluik: derde stap

Het maken van het derde luik heeft heel wat voeten in de aarde gekend. Ik dacht aan een contrasterend kleurenpalet en startte met zwart en ging stilletjes over in blauw. Schrapen met de achterkant van een penseel en met een stuk hout en een lijm spatel gaf me het volgende resultaat.

Het geheel kwam nogal donker over en daarom heb ik er 2 toetsen van een purperachtige kleur toegevoegd om uiteindelijk dit resultaat te verkrijgen.

Gecombineerd met de 2 andere luiken krijg je één van de volgende mogelijkheden.

Ik vond dat het geheel niet echt een "wauw"-effect had en heb het derde luik daarom overschilderd met Gesso en herschilderd met een ander kleurengamma. (see this week) :-)

The creation of the third part of this triptych wasn't a piece of cake. On the contrary. I thought to obtain a palette of contrasting colors and started with black while blending it with blue. Scraping with the back of a brush, a piece of wood and a glue spatula I obtained the following result.

The overall view gave me an impression of a rather dark background. Therefore I decided to add some purplish color to obtain this result.

Combined with the 2 other pieces one of the possible outcomes is this picture.

After all I had not a really "wow"-feeling and I repainted the third piece starting with Gesso and now using a competely different palette of colors. Come and see this week :-)
